Hi All;
What I'd like to see is all the "cleaned up" ultra bright reticles folks made and applied to various patches removed. They're absolutly blinding the Ki-61 a great example of. I have no idea why someone would make them so bright, yet I've seen illuminated reticles from WWII era through Vietnam era aircraft....
.....and they look nothing like that.

don't think there has been done much to the gunsights on japanese planes, have to dive into the readme for that.. I think they where only cleaned up, not being made brighter.. but could be wrong on that.
Besides that I would say your best bet would be in asking someone politely who has made alterations to the stock gunsights, or someone who is working on those things atm, yet I can't really help you on that sir.
I for instance love what they have done for the german planes, those gunsights don't look so bright as stock even thinned out a bit it would seem and are imho a big improvement.
Maybe we will see some changes in that area with 4.10 if someone felt obliged to do something about it that is.

It was a "mod" implemented change. Now I can't say as to whether it was when they added the incorrect color cockpit, or when various reticles were being altered (of which many were including Japanese), yet in any case it is incorrect as to brightness, and historically incorrect (though that a 1C error.....of many on the Hien).
Unfortunately, in that it is a "mod pack" added change, it puts those flying the Hien at a un-historical disadvantage.....Yet needs to be a "mod-pack" change to keep all using the mods on a level playing field.

well they say a picture says more than a 1000 words..
thx for sharing that sir.. I'm not involved with modding but seems interesting enough i would think for those who do.

I think you'll find that 'Sir', should in fact be 'Ma'am', Happy. |

Well I stand corrected then kye, seeing as in my experience 99% of the people I seem to have had contact with and who fly and are familiar with IL2 are male. Besides how was I suppose to know..
Wonder how many lady's fly IL2 btw.. talking 'bout ladies.. my nose art work is out of control.. got so carried away last night and this morning that I think I've made 15 or so new ones.
well miss billfish, my apologies for calling you sir.
and kye, thx for the heads up on that one.
Wishing you all a great weekend!

| I would agree that some of the sights are too bright. One of the Russian planes I was flying had a sight that was so bright it made it difficult to discern the target. |
